Old roses from the Cranford Rose Garden at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. I love the form and fragrance of old damask roses. They always remind me of one of my favorite photographs by Edward Weston, Heavy Roses, which is part of the MoMA photography collection. They are a world away from the modern hybrids that are stripped of any character or fragrance.
